Customer Reviews

All in what you want to use it for.
This light saber can be either a disaster or a huge winner depending on the purpose you use it for. I found this toy to be wonderful because I mostly just swing it around in the air rather than do battles. Because the saber is very weak and the blade flimsy, I would not recommend this to anyone who likes to clunk them around and do fights. However, the toy is very easy to handle and has a nice handle that seems durable enough to swing around. Overall this product is very practical for play and is loads of fun. But if I were you, for a more strong saber, I'd go with the Obi Wan Kenobi episode 1 toy.

Not impressed
This Mace Windu lightsaber was very disappointing. The "blade" neither extends nor retracts as it was designed to do. I bought it for my daughter because the blade was a lavender color and supposedly lit up. There were blemishes on the handle, and despite installation of fresh batteries it would not light up. The bulb was supposed to be replaceable, but the toy did not provide access to the bulb as the instructions indicated. The seller had a "no return" policy, so basically my daughter has a lightsaber-shaped paperweight.

Flimsy construction, unlikey to survive for long
My son had a similar toy without a light that was surprisingly robust. I bought this one hoping for something similar, but it's a cheap-cheap knockoff.

A plastic ring fell off on opening, but at least that was easy to repair with a bit of glue. The "saber" is a very soft plastic that won't survive any "duels". Now that's not entirely a negative, as it probably can't do as much eye/ear damage as a better quality device. Alas, if you're buying something like this you probably expect kids to at least clunk it around.

There's no belt clip, which for Tim was a major negative.

The light did work and the battery retaining section is well made.
